Wrongful Termination
The following is a collection notice from the Michigan Department of Labor that pertains to my employment at Bridgman Public Schools. I filed for unemployment after I was wrongfully discharged and without due-process. A year after my termination, Bridgman Public Schools filed a protest claiming that I had quit without notice.
The only evidence Bridgman Public Schools provided to the Department of Labor were two pay stubs. My bank records show that I was paid on 12/10 and 12/24 which proved I was paid for two more weeks after BPS (falsely) claimed I quit without notice. Para Professionals are paid up to date, not a week later.
On the afternoon of December 2nd, Principal Truesdell left me a voicemail instructing me not to return to Bridgman Public until I have spoken to him first (I have preserved the voicemail). When I returned Truesdell's call a few hours later, he informed me that I was being placed on paid Administrative Leave pending an investigation of Professional Misconduct and that I was not to return to BPS until further notice. I did mention to Mr. Truesdell that I had been planning to give my two weeks notice the following day, but now welcomed the investigation as I had done nothing wrong except for being a whistleblower and a Trump supporter.
In January of 2023, I received notice from the MI Department of Labor that Bridgman Public Schools was protesting my unemployment claim. I immediately reached out to an Attorney who had successfully sued Bridgman Public Schools twice in the past. After two hours of discussing my case, the Attorney advised me to walk away and not because of the lack of evidence or a very strong case, but because I would be going up against the most powerful Attorneys in Michigan who represent the Teachers Union. It's the Union that I am going up against, not Peters, Stine, Truesdell, or Heath who are just stooges for the Union. The Attorney went on to say that I would spend thousands of dollars in legal fees before ever entering a courtroom – a courtroom that would most likely favor the Teachers Union.
The evidence is clear that Bridgman Public Schools provided false and misleading information to the MI Department of Labor in order to cause further financial and emotional harm.
Epilogue -
After being hired by Bridgman Public Schools, I went on my Social Media and deleted posts relating to Politics. Nothing I posted was libelous or hateful, but I felt it best to be politically neutral as a Educator. Once I realized that I had the ire of the radical Teachers, I went back to my Social Media and found a post that I had not deleted. It presents my opinion of the Teachers Union and why I may have become persona non grata at Bridgman Public Schools -
And for the record and for what it's worth, what is mentioned in the article is what I campaigned on two years earlier.
