What Really Happened to Evanston Township Assessor Sharon Eckersall?
Questions that still need to be answered -
- Why is the death of Sharon Eckersall still a mystery twelve years after her death?
- Why was there a limited intestigation in to her death which included key witnesses not being interviewed?
- Why did the Chicago Branch of the FBI under the Obama administration refuse to investigate her highly suspicious death after
being notified by her former campaign manager to important facts about her death?
- Was Sharon Eckersall murdered for being a whistleblower which included her testifying to the FBI about
serious corruption in Cook County Illinois the year before her death?
I was living in Michigan when I received a call from Mr. Ricky Peterson who was a mutual friend of Sharon Eckersall telling me she had died. "They killed her, Tom. They actually killed her and you and I both know it!”
I immediately went online to see if there were any details about her death and the following article came up-
As soon as I read the article, I knew immediately that Sharon's death was highly suspicious because of one important detail in the article– that Sharon was found unresponsive in her bed. If Sharon was found in her bed, then someone had to have placed her there as she never slept in her bed since the death of her son Ecky from a heroin overdose. Sharon was devastated over the death of Ecky (as any mother would be) and she turned her bedroom in to a makeshift shrine which included the black dress she wore to his funeral spread across the bed. Sharon had made it a point that she hadn't slept in her bed since the morning she found Ecky dead in her basement. Anyone who visited Sharon in her home would know that she slept on a couch in the living room with Ecky's dog and not only did I visit her home, I lived in her basement up until the time I fled to Michigan in 2012.
After I moved out Sharon's basement, the brother of Ricky Peterson moved in and was living there at the time of her death. I contacted Ricky to have him ask his brother if Sharon had changed her sleeping habits and had she started sleeping in her bed. The answer was that Sharon had not changed her sleeping habits and that her bedroom remained a shrine to Ecky which included the black dress still laying across the bed.
Since the Chicago Tribune had been implicated in the corruption that Sharon and I had alleged, I printed out the article knowing that it would be taken down once the "powers to be" at the Tribune saw the details. The article was taken down less than 24 hours of being published online. One year after her death, Evanston Police Chief Richard Eddington would say to the Evanston Roundtable newspaper that Sharon Eckersall's death was still unresolved. Sharon was in excellent health at the time of death. She didn't smoke, didn't drink, she was not overweight, and she could lift objects equal to her weight.
What raises more suspicion about her death was that I was never contacted by investigators even though I had lived in her basement and had a (minor) falling out with her at the time I moved to Michigan. Even worse, I contacted the FBI Field Office in Chicago where Sharon and I (and three other citizens) had testified to an FBI Agent back in April of 2012 about corruption. I never received a response from the FBI which came as no surprise as I believed they were complicit in her death. I still believe it to this day.
I believe the reason I was never interviewed was because I could establish possible motive for her death -
