Back in July of 2021, I was approached at my place of employment by Bridgman Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Sam Stine who offered me the position of Aquatic Director along with becoming a Substitute Teacher. Bridgman High School Principal Gerald Heath was present for the job offer which I accepted on a handshake. As part of the process, I was to submit my credentials to Edu Staff which operates as Human Resources for Michigan Public Schools. With all my information submitted along with a background check, I was designated as a qualified Substitute Teacher.
On the Friday before my start date in late September, I received a frantic call from Principal Heath informing me that I was not qualified to be a Substitute Teacher and that I was going to be relegated to the position of Para-Pro at $10.50 hr. As for the Aquatic Director position, that never came to fruition nor was there ever a conversation with Sam Stine about the offer he had made.
Based on information and belief, Bridgman Public Schools did a Social Media background check and discovered that I was a Trump supporter and an advocate for giving Parents an alternative to Public Schools. Believing that I was still going to be the next Aquatic Director, I still went ahead and accepted the Para-Pro position and began my employment on September 20, 2001.
From my first day at Bridgman Public Schools, I felt the hostility from Teachers and was also ignored by BPS Superintendent Shane Peters and Sam Stine who didn’t have the courage to inform me of my situation. Had either Peters or Stine told me that I was not the right fit for BPS from the beginning, I would have accepted the reality that BPS was a Woke school and gone back to my previous job in the Brewing Industry. Instead, BPS placed me on paid Administrative Leave on Thursday December 2nd pending an investigation of Professional Misconduct. Once the semester had ended, BPS claimed that I had quit with the only evidence being hearsay from Reed Middle School Principal John Truesdell who was the person who called me to place me on Administrative Leave. Following my departure from BPS, I sent numerous emails to Peters demanding an explanation for my termination even though I knew the reason – I was a Trump supporter who was exposing Leftist indoctrination of Students at Bridgman Public Schools.
In forcing me out, Bridgman Public Schools submitted false information to Edu Staff claiming that I had ‘self-terminated’. A year later, BPS filed false information to the Michigan Department of Labor claiming that I had quit without any supporting documentation other than the hearsay of Principal Truesdell. My pay stubs proved that I hadn't quit, but that didn't matter. I filed an appeal to the Department of Labor and a grievance to the Michigan Attorney General that went nowhere as they all play for the same team.
